Justice Law Collaborative is pleased to share an important development in the firm’s representation of Jessica Fuller in the ongoing litigation against Hyde School. Ms. Fuller is represented by Attorneys Kim Dougherty, Kelly Guagenty, and Karen Menzies of Justice Law Collaborative, as well as Attorney Kevin Fitzgerald of Maine. 

As reported this week by the Portland Press Herald, a federal judge denied Hyde School’s motion to dismiss the majority of Ms. Fuller’s claims, allowing the lawsuit to move forward.

Justice Law Collaborative partner Kimberly Dougherty commented on the ruling:

“For far too long the school has hidden behind a façade of claiming their mistreatment of children constitutes ‘character development.’ It’s clear that such a mischaracterization of the school’s abusive conduct will not work.”

The firm will now move forward with discovery as it continues to seek accountability on behalf of Ms. Fuller and other former Hyde School students.
