INTERN TEAM

A valuable component of our firm is our team of interns…

dedicated to academic pursuits spanning criminal justice, law, the intersection between medicine and law, and government legislation.

Our interns assist paralegals and attorneys to prepare for active cases and lead intense research projects that advance our firm’s efforts to effect change in practice areas we are deeply invested in, including the “troubled teen industry” (TTI), sexual abuse and harassment, and medical malpractice.

MORGAN MAIORANO

Litigation Support Assistant

Morgan has interned full-time and worked part-time for JLC for 3 years. She recently graduated from Pace University’s Pforzheimer Honors College in New York City where she double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

Now, Morgan is continuing her education at John Jay College of Criminal Justice by pursuing a master’s degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling. She has been a tremendous asset to the JLC team and an absolute pleasure to work with. There hasn’t been a project handed to her that she hasn’t turned around ahead of time and with added insight well beyond her years.

A fun fact about Morgan is that she grew up as a competitive dancer who shares her passion for the performing arts by teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers. She balances her dance responsibilities while interning full time with JLC.

RYAN SCULLY

Litigation Support Assistant

Ryan graduated from Duke University in 2025 with a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Spanish. For three years, she has worked at JLC at the intersection of law, science, and emerging technologies.

Ryan plays a key role in JLC’s litigation involving preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) in the IVF industry. She authored a comprehensive white paper evaluating decades of scientific literature on PGT-A to guide clients, leading experts, and co-counsel. Ryan’s clinical analysis, legal drafting, and synthesis of evidentiary records support JLC’s efforts to hold genetic testing companies accountable for consumer fraud.

Ryan has also taken on substantive responsibilities in complex matters involving medical malpractice, multi-jurisdictional sex trafficking, and systemic abuse in youth residential treatment facilities. Her work spans discovery review and production, strategy development for witness depositions, and drafting core legal filings, including complaints, settlement demands, and discovery responses.

In August 2025, Ryan co-authored “Standing Up to the Troubled-Teen Industry,” published in the American Association for Justice’s Trial magazine. Driven by a commitment to both individual client advocacy and broader systemic reform, she also drafted JLC’s testimony supporting the Speak Your Truth Act (H.B. 1974 / S.B. 1143) before the Massachusetts Judiciary Committee.

Ryan’s passion for science and public service extends beyond her legal practice. She previously volunteered in the Emergency Radiology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital and interned in commercial and regulatory strategy for an OB/GYN medical device venture. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys traveling and pursuing her curiosity through reading, podcasts, and new experiences; most recently, she spent the summer as an au pair for a family with four young children in Jaca, Spain. Ryan plans to attend law school in the fall of 2027.

Natalie Frazier

Summer Associate/ Law Clerk

Natalie has always been passionate about advocating for marginalized groups and connecting with communities. She earned her undergraduate degree at Emory University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies and minoring in Political Science. While in college, she was exposed to interdisciplinary learning, benefiting from the wide range of subjects she studied. Upon graduating, she worked as a paralegal at an immigration law firm for over three years, working on green card matters.

Today, she is entering into her third (and final) year of law school at The University of North Carolina School of Law and is this year’s JLC Summer Associate. In law school, she has gained exposure to many different areas of the law both in and outside the classroom. Such as:

Family Law – including custody agreements, divorce proceedings, family immigration matters, and DCFS appeals while working at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau last summer.
Family Defense – as part of UNC’s full-year Clinic, she worked one-on-one with parents, advocated in and out of court, and helped clients better understand the child welfare system.

TEDDY SCHWAB

Summer Intern

Teddy is entering his junior year at Elon University, where he is studying History and plans to attend law school after graduating in 2028. This is Teddy’s third summer with JLC, and over that time he has had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and get a closer look at what practicing law is actually like.

At JLC, Teddy has assisted with legal and factual research, document review, and work on several of the firm’s active cases. Some of his work has involved the troubled teen industry, PGT-A testing, and other complex and nuanced legal issues. He has also worked on research and advocacy surrounding proposed legislation, including efforts related to protecting children in Massachusetts. Each summer has given him the chance to take on more responsibility and become more comfortable working through unfamiliar areas of law.

Teddy has also gotten experience with the other side of running a law firm. He has worked with the accounting department on billing and financial records and helped with client communications and outreach through Mailchimp. Being involved in both the legal and business sides of JLC has given him a better understanding of the many different roles that go into running a firm.

Outside of school and JLC, Teddy enjoys playing guitar and is a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He plans to attend law school after graduating from Elon and hopes to continue building on the experience he has gained during his summers at JLC.

Ben Chandler

Summer Intern

Ben is entering his junior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he is majoring in Legal Studies with a minor in Theater. During his first summer working with JLC, Ben assisted attorneys with legal research, helped with case-related projects, and supported the firm’s work across a variety of legal matters.

He also contributed to advocacy efforts focused on protecting children in Massachusetts, including work involving child labor protections, student rights, and other legal issues within educational institutions. His experience at JLC has given him the opportunity to develop his research and analytical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the legal profession and the work that goes on behind the scenes of litigation.

Outside of the office, Ben is a member of the UMass club basketball team and Kappa Sigma fraternity. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing football and piano while also pursuing his passion for theater and the performing arts.
