JLC's Kim Dougherty Speaks at 2025 National Trial Lawyer's Summit - Miami
Justice Law Collaborative (JLC) co-founder and partner Kim Dougherty will this week join a panel of female legal industry leaders at the National Trial Lawyers Summit in Miami to co-present at the Women’s Leadership Forum.
Alongside a crew of female legal industry leaders including Michelle Simpson Tuegal (Simpson Tuegel Law Firm), Laura Ramos James (Ramos James Law), Prya Murad (Prya Murad Law, PLLC), Marjorie Mesidor, and Megan Bonanni (Pitt Mcghee Palmers Bonanni & Rivers), Dougherty will panel-present "Advocacy for Change & Lawyering Outside the Box." The conversation will delve into the practice of taking on cases that help drive social and legislative change.
In recent years, Dougherty was instrumental in influencing change specifically around rampant sexual assault and abuse across U.S. gymnastics. Her involvement and advocacy supported the creation of an Army of Survivors, which seeks to end the culture of abuse by creating transparency in reporting, building an environment where athletes do not fear retaliation when reporting abuse, and advocating for change to protect survivors.
As a whole, Justice Law Collaborative continues to work diligently to champion legislative changes, particuarly those that fail to protect individuals harmed by a rapidly evolving capitalistic nation.
"2025 feels like the year of women--a time when women in law can and should raise their voices and showcase our blanket strength," said Dougherty. "Our collective experience continues to build. We're riveted on cases with purpose, leading to monumental opportunities to affect change and impact legislative evolution."
